Our Vision

At every OSUN collection boutique hotel,

we believe hospitality can be more than a place to stay—it can be a vessel for cultural preservation, storytelling, and regeneration.

Our vision is to create a collection of boutique hotels rooted in the world’s most extraordinary landscapes and traditions, places where architecture and anthropology meet to honor the wisdom of communities that have thrived in harmony with nature for centuries.

Each OSUN property begins with listening—listening to the land, to the local people, to the rhythm of place. We design spaces that celebrate vernacular building methods, preserve fragile knowledge, and offer travelers the chance to connect deeply with culture, craft, and environment. Our goal is not scale, but soul: intimate, sustainable destinations that support communities, protect heritage, and invite guests to live slowly and meaningfully.

OSUN Collection exists to prove that the future of travel is not about consumption, but about communion—with culture, with nature, and with one another.

Dar Lara House is where this philosophy begins.

In the heart of Marrakech’s medina, the house is a living expression of OSUN’s vision: to restore, preserve, and share spaces that embody cultural memory while offering modern comfort.

Our vision for Dar Lara is simple yet profound: to create an oasis where guests feel not only welcomed, but connected—connected to Marrakech’s traditions of craftsmanship, to the poetry of daily Moroccan life, and to themselves. Every tile, every arch, every carved detail is part of a story that stretches across generations, and we see our role as caretakers of that story.

Through Dar Lara House, we invite travelers to experience Marrakech intimately: to savor the flavors of a homemade meal, to pause in the stillness of the courtyard, to watch the sun fall across the rooftops. It is a vision of hospitality as both sanctuary and bridge—between past and present, local and global, host and guest.

Our founder

Olivia Haynie Lara | www.oliviahaynielara.com

I am an architect, explorer, pilot, and writer with a passion for discovering and preserving the beauty of traditional craftsmanship around the world. From wandering through the medinas of Morocco to trekking into remote villages where vernacular architecture thrives, I’ve spent my life listening to stories carried in stone, mud, and wood—and watching artisans bring those stories to life with skills passed down through generations.

Dar Lara House, here in Marrakech, is the first expression of this vision: a living home restored with care, where the textures of traditional tadelakt, zellige tiles, and carved wooden doors tell their own story. Every detail honors the slow, delicate processes that I believe give true meaning to beauty—whether it’s a handmade ceramic bottle or a house perfectly adapted to its climate and culture.

This philosophy extends into the OSUN Collection, a growing constellation of boutique hotels rooted in cultural preservation. Each project begins with listening—to the land, to its people, to the traditions that have endured. The goal is not simply to build, but to create sanctuaries that protect heritage, celebrate place, and invite travelers to connect deeply with the world around them.

Through both Dar Lara and OSUN, I want to share what I’ve learned on my journeys: that true beauty is respect, authenticity, and a deep connection to people and place. These spaces are invitations—to slow down, to savor, and to experience the world through the lens of craft, culture, and belonging.
